Chops Grading and Excavating LLC belongs to Nick Timiraos, known on job sites as Chop. He is a heavy equipment operator and a heavy equipment mechanic, and he runs the machines on his jobs himself. When you hire Chops, the owner is the operator.
Chop has been running heavy equipment for 15+ years. The company is licensed and insured in Florida and does residential and commercial work for builders, contractors and homeowners. Most days that means house pads and lot fill, stem wall backfill, lot clearing, culverts, drive cuts and final grade on new homes.
The business is based in Cape Coral and works across Lee, Collier and Charlotte counties and anywhere else in Florida. Chops is a member of the Cape Coral Construction Industry Association, listed in its directory under site preparation.
Chop answers his own phone at (239) 560-2996, even when he is on a machine at another job. There is a Spanish line too, (305) 506-7420, for customers who would rather talk in Spanish.
One customer, an owner-builder doing a septic abandonment under Cape Coral's rules, wrote on Facebook that Chop picked up his call while working, was understanding when the job had to be rescheduled, showed up on time and "SHOWED UP and SHOWED OUT." He did the excavation and helped with a few extra small jobs while he was there. You can see more of the work on our recent work page, or ask Chop for a free quote.

How Chop works
Build it to the plan
Pads go to the elevation on the drawings, slopes and swales go where the plot plan puts them, and shorelines follow the engineer's design.
Pick up the phone
You call the owner, and the owner answers. In English at (239) 560-2996 or in Spanish at (305) 506-7420.
Show up when we said
Builders run tight schedules and homeowners take time off to meet us. If a date has to move on either side, we talk about it and set a new one.
Respect the lot and the rules
Owl and tortoise buffers stay up, fill stays out of the swales and canals, and the lot is left graded so water goes where the city wants it.
Talk to Chop about your lot
He answers his own phone. Or send the form with the lot address. Only your name and phone are required.
